Chuck started coaching in 1975 for the Pico Ski Club and attended the first USSA Coaches Academy in 1980. Since then he has taught and coached for Killington Resort, Pico Ski Club, Burke Mountain Academy, Winter Park, the Ontario Ski Team, the Southern Ontario Ski Team, and KMS. Chuck took the first group of KMS athletes to train in Europe. He is a certified USSA Coach, Alpine Official and a FIS Technical Delegate (TD) for Alpine (speed certified and examiner). He has been a TD for events at the World Cup, Canadian National’s, NorAm Cup, FIS UNI’s, EISA Championships, NCAA Championships, South American Cup , USCSA Regional Championships, and at all levels of USSA racing.

Chuck is currently a FIS TD and Nationally ranked certified Alpine Official. Chuck is a USSA Alpine Level 300 certified coach.

Chuck has served as a member of many boards including VARA (past president and current board member), Eastern Alpine Officials Committee (chairperson), and VARA Alpine Official (chairman). He is currently a member of the USSA Sport Committee, the USSA TD Working Group, Eastern ACC Committee, and the US FIS TD Working Group.

Chuck was the recipient of the Burckett/Dodge Award for Outstanding Officiating in the Eastern Region and the VARA Volunteer of the Year Award.

Chuck’s wife, Betty, was the director of academics and headmaster at KMS for 16 years, and has been a coach in the KSC/KMS program for over 20 years.

Chucks three children all grew up in the KSC and attended KMS. They all competed in Alpine Racing and achieved many accomplishments from; MID VT Champions, Vermont State Champions, VARA TEAM, JO Champions, EASTERN Ski Team Members, USST Members, JR World Championship Team Members, NCAA Champs, NCAA All-Americans, World University Games Participants, and US Ski Team Members and graduates of UNIV of Vermont, Middlebury College and the UNIV of Colorado.
