Freestyle weekend update

With our last weekend before East Coast Championships, athletes, parents and coaches from the A and B Team worked hard to get the mogul course in shape. With the enormous snow predictions for the next few days, I think we are in for some good conditions and great courses.

We had a fun team BBQ and Potluck on Saturday. I want to send a big THANK YOU to the parents that dreamed up this wonderful event and especially to Mary Petrone for coordinating the delicious food and heavenly desserts! Seeing everyone eating, drinking and socializing reminded me of what a unique and wonderful community we have on the KMS/KSC Freestyle Team. Everyone has contributed immensely to the program, the course maintenance and the event preparations. I think we are more than ready to host this huge event, but also to make it a great success for everyone involved.

Our athletes have put in the hard work all year. I’m continually impressed by how fearless and unphased they are by the difficult courses and conditions, especially the rock hard, icy moguls and landings full of ice cookies that we saw this weekend. I couldn’t be more proud of this group that has come together to offer encouragement and support for their teammates. The Killington athletes are ready to shine. I can’t wait see what they accomplish on their home mountain this weekend!
