KMS Freeski athlete Montana Osinski earns Revolution Tour spot

Killington Mountain School Freeski athlete Montana Osinski and her teammates logged a very successful weekend of competition in New Hampshire. KMS Freeski Program Director Pete DuBois took Montana and fellow Freeski athletes Felix Estes and Dylan DaMore over to Waterville Valley for the New Hampshire Open. This event is a US Ski and Snowboard sanctioned Slopestyle event that is also a US Revolution Tour qualifier. DuBois shares that it was "far from an ideal weekend for a competition with sub-zero temperatures and winds up to 50 mph."

The course was a difficult one, with 40 and a 50 foot jumps that were positioned very close together, along with big rail features. DuBois reports that the athletes really rose to the occasion, making the most of the course and managing to get some of the best results of their careers.

Felix was feeling pretty under the weather in the morning but was still able to come out and compete in his heat. Due to feeling sick, he hadn't been able to get in very many practice runs at all, and as a result he wasn't able to put together the run he was hoping for, but he still wound up in a very respectable 17th place.

Dylan had a very strong day, especially for this being his first slope event in an open class format. He hung in there with the big boys, missing finals by a mere 0.4 points! He wound up in 11th place overall, in a strong field of athletes who were mostly several years his senior.

Montana stole the show! She finished in first place, earning herself a spot in the US Revolution Tour! The "Rev tour" is a series of events for high-level athletes looking to break onto the world stage --think Nor-am in other disciplines. This slot will give Montana the opportunity to compete against the best athletes in North America!
