Student of the Week - Ashley Spreng
Congratulations to Ashley Spreng who was named Student of the Week at Wednesday's all-school meeting. Ashley is a ninth grade Alpine athlete who comes to KMS from Groton, CT. Ashley was nominated for this award by Computer Science instructor (and KMS Alum/Trustee) Chris Bianchi. Chris shared, "Ashley has been working independently on her computer applications class all year. She's been making it work with just a Chromebook while the rest of her class at home uses PC's. She even requested an additional class block to work on Excel assignments. She's incredibly self-motivated, and I've been impressed with her throughout her time at KMS."
Spanish teacher Theresa Sunderland seconded the nomination, commenting, "In Spanish she always stays current on her home school work by checking her school website, and rarely waits for me to assign her work. She takes the initiative, is always on time for class, and takes responsibility in communicating with teachers, always letting them know if she's going to be out for competitions. Ashely is also timely in completing her work, and follows through. When she needs help, she speaks up and gets the work done and doesn't make excuses. No matter what is in front of her, she finds a way to smile. As teachers, we are fortunate to have her in class."
Today is Ashley's last day at KMS, and we will miss her very much! What a great way to round out her time here. Congratulations on a well-deserved honor!
