Student of the Week - Jessica Cohen

Congratulations to Jessica Cohen, who was named Student of the Week at Wednesday's all-school meeting. Jessica is a 10th grade Freestyle athlete who comes to KMS from East Hampton, CT. Jessica, who was a winter-term athlete and has just transitioned to the full-term program, was nominated for this award by Science Department Chair Terri Isidro. Terri commented, "I am very impressed with Jessica's positive attitude, responsibility, and hard work overall. No matter what we are doing, she completes activities and lessons on time, asks great questions, and really focuses on the task. She really gives it her best effort when she is learning a new concept, and contributes positively to the class. Also, Jessica went away for a week and was very diligent in communicating and keeping up with the assignments. In addition, she's also got a happy energy and great smile that makes the classroom a brighter place for everyone!"

World Language Department Chair Claudia Revenko-Bowen seconded the nomination, "I have Jessica in my class, and it truly is a pleasure to have her. I am amazed how well she has adapted to a new class and curriculum after transitioning mid-year into the full-term program." English Department Chair Alex Crivici agreed, "I would also like to nominate Jess Cohen for student of the week. She entered our 10th grade class in the end of February, and she has already distinguished herself as a leader among her peers. Last Thursday during our Socratic Seminar, Jess lead our discussion with poise and composure while impressing her classmates with her keen analytical skills. Jess is a diligent student of English and it has been a pleasure getting to know her over this month. Keep up the incredible work, Jess!" Winter-term English instructor Kate Stone added, "I had Jess in my English class before she transitioned to full term. Jess always stayed on top of her work even when she traveled for a month to the Pacific Northwest for competition. She's enthusiastic, bright, and she's not afraid to challenge popular ideas and beliefs. Whether it's of the athletic or academic realm, I have no doubt that Jess will continue to meet and exceed her goals here at KMS."

We are thrilled to have Jessica as part of the full-term program at KMS. Congratulations on making not only an incredible transition, but also an amazing impression on all your teachers, Jess! Well done!
