KMS Reopening Update 8/4/2020
Dear KMS Families,
Thank you for your patience as we reviewed Governor Scott's recent executive order.
After much consideration and consultation, we have decided to preserve our initial reopening plan as an essential piece of our safe return to academics and athletics. For this reason, we will begin our Full Term Program on Tuesday, September 8th.
Please take a moment to review the following operational updates:
Pursuant to Governor Scott's order, we will not start the academic year with a period of remote learning. Instead, we will begin on-campus classes in earnest on September 8th.
Phase 3 of our COVID-19 Safety Manual is being updated to reflect this start date and will be published to our response page in the next few days.
Residential students will be scheduled to move into the dorm on the holiday weekend preceding September 8th. Meghan Girardi will be in touch with parents to coordinate arrivals.
All students will still be required to obtain a COVID-19 viral test within 14 days of their scheduled return date. Residential students should use their move-in date for reference and day students should anchor to September 8th. Please remember that a period of self-quarantine will be required between the time of a student's test and their return date.
Coaches continue to monitor the landscape for safe training opportunities, though KMS will not be traveling for on-snow training prior to September 8th. Summer training on campus and at our other venues will continue as planned and our coaches will be in close contact should you have any questions about upcoming sessions.
Team KMS remains prepared to welcome your children back to campus. Please be on the lookout for your invitation to a "Back-to-School" virtual meeting where members of our administration will help your family prepare for the start of the school year.
Sincerely,
Claire Kershko
Head of School
