Academic Programs at KMS

Dear KMS Community,

I hope this note finds you well and enjoying the remaining days of summer.

We have been having a blast getting outside and gearing up for our first day of classes on September 8th. I cannot praise our team here at school enough for the dedication and hard work they have put in this summer to ensure our safe return to academics and athletics.

This pandemic has spurred creativity for many organizations, including KMS. With guidance from the board of trustees and our faculty, we have been thinking differently about ways to serve our community and expand our program offerings. KMS is eager to flex our blended learning muscle to provide a continuity of academics for more students pursuing excellence in school and in their sports during this uncertain time.

This year, KMS is offering an academic only program to qualifying students in grades 7-12.

While this is not the first time KMS has welcomed students participating in athletics outside of our traditional winter and cycling sports, we have designed the 2020-2021 academic only program to allow for a small number of day students, and to more widely serve 9-12 graders seeking synchronous online learning this year. New applicants should have an established athletic background which they will foster outside of KMS and be prepared to engage in the full extent of our admissions process.

KMS believes firmly in the transformative power of our differences and looks forward to expanding the reach of our academic programs to student-athletes requiring a supportive and flexible curriculum.

All the best,

Claire Kershko

Head of School
