Black Bear Community Award:Tim W., Lars T., and Coach Jamie

Please join the KMS community in recognizing this week’s Black Bear Community Award recipients. This award is given to those who go above and beyond to support and strengthen our school community. These individuals selflessly dedicate their time and energy, embodying the KMS values of leadership and responsibility.

This week, we honor Alpine Coach Jamie Bender, along with U16 athletes Tim Wilson and Lars Tanniru, for their efforts during the U16 Copper SG Project on December 12th, 2024. Despite challenging weather conditions, the event saw over 90 athletes and 20 coaches participating in four days of training. At the end of the event, all athletes and coaches were asked to stay and assist with cleanup, but not everyone remained. KMS did.

In a message to our Head of School, Chip Knight, Alpine Development Director for the US Ski Team, expressed gratitude: “KMS stayed until the very end, and we are very thankful for Jamie’s leadership and the hard work shown by the team. Please let them know we appreciated it very much.”

We are incredibly proud of Jamie, Tim, and Lars for embodying the KMS mantra: “Leave a place better than you found it.” Thank you for your outstanding contributions to our community!
