KMS Welcomes Jimmy Whiteley as Alpine Program’s Head Women’s Coach

Killington Mountain School (KMS) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jimmy Whiteley as Head Alpine Women’s Coach. A skilled technical coach and leader, Jimmy arrives with extensive expertise and a demonstrated history of achievement.

Jimmy joins KMS from Burke Mountain Academy where he spent the last six years, most recently coaching the E-Team, Burke's PG group. He also held positions at the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team, Cardrona Alpine Resort (NZ) and was on the PSIA Western Technical Team. Jimmy is a USSA Level 300 and PSIA Level 3 certified coach, an avid mountain biker, runner and hiker with a background in strength and conditioning and wilderness first aid. He looks forward to joining the KMS community with his wife (Katie) and daughter (Sloan Josephine).

“Jimmy is a student of the sport and has global experience in many levels of ski racing,” said KMS Head of School and Athletic Director Claire Butler. “He is driven and thoughtful in his approach to development and has a keen understanding of the personalization and care required to maximize each athlete’s potential.”

Well versed in preparing athletes to compete on the collegiate and world stages, Jimmy’s dedication to excellence will undoubtedly continue the momentum of KMS’ Alpine Program, bringing it to new heights.

Jimmy replaces former Head Women’s Coach Miha Kurner who now coaches the US Women’s Europa Cup Team. He will coach the KMS U18/U21 and PG women.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Jimmy to KMS!
